Community Development Manager - Carolinas

Responsibilities

SUMMARY

Develops and implements business relations activities and strategies to promote growth and positioning of the Credit Union and its products and services.  Serves as the Credit Union’s outside sales representative by actively identifying, cultivating, soliciting, acquiring, developing and servicing relationships with targeted businesses, community associations and strategic groups. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

 

Establishes and maintains mutually beneficial relationships with new partner organizations in order to drive new business to the Carolinas branch(es) and Advancial overall. 

 

Actively participates in community, trade and professional events to maintain a strong pipeline of potential new partnerships, raise awareness of the Advancial brand, and promote the Credit Union’s image as a business contributor.  Promotes and coordinates additional Credit Union staff involvement in activities when appropriate.  Assists Community Development Officer with execution of events as needed.

 

Identifies, recommends and negotiates Credit Union sponsorships and advertising to enhance business development and sales efforts.

 

Regularly presents financial education to prospective partner organizations in order to increase Credit Union participation. 

 

Assists Marketing Department with development of support materials to use in business relations activities. 

 

Provides comprehensive written reports on development efforts.  Provides statistical reports and calendars as requested.  Monitors and tracks organization and member activity within designated segments.

 

Possesses thorough knowledge of Credit Union operations, procedures, products, services and philosophy.

 

Ability to work flexible, non-traditional hours, including some weekends is required.

 

Maintains thorough knowledge of regulatory environment and other environmental trends in order to identify the impact to the Credit Union and the businesses/groups it serves

 

Fosters a positive culture throughout the organization. Promotes respect and harmonious relations among accounting staff and with departments throughout the organization.

 

Ensures positive relationships with the branches, internal departments and external partners. Maintains a positive and caring atmosphere for members and employees consistent with the Credit Union's mission and philosophy.

 

Adheres to Credit Union policies and procedures and supports Management decisions and goals in a positive, professional manner.

 

Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.  The Credit Union reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.

 

The starting salary for this positon is $66,000 to $82,000 annually, and is based on relevant experience.  

 

Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

 

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Working knowledge of computer equipment and software required including Microsoft Office Suite.  

Must possess excellent consultative sales skills to gain new business relationships and build productive partnerships with organizations.  Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
