The American Heart Association has an excellent opportunity for a National Program Lead for our Risk Factor Control Team. The location can be remote.

 

 

 This is a full-time, benefits eligible, grant-funded opportunity, current funding is through August 2027.

 

This role is responsible for directing the fulfillment of assigned Portfolio (Healthy Smiles, Healthy Hearts) agreement(s) and contract(s) with Product Development and Portfolio Marketing teams under leadership of a National Senior Lead. Responsible for analyzing and identifying market driven opportunities to enhance and expand AHA’s mission and impact goals within an assigned portfolio. Responsible for leading and communicating as the Portfolio Subject Matter Expert across Science, Advocacy, Quality & Systems Improvement, Corporate Relations, Mission Advancement and Community Health & Development departments. 

 

Expected pay range will be $95,000 to $105,000. Pay is commensurate with experience; geographic differentials to the pay range may apply. The American Heart Association reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations of assigned projects within the Mission Portfolio, ensuring alignment with project timelines, funding agreements, and strategic goals. Applies strong project management skills to track deliverables, manage risks, and ensure high-quality execution.
  • Operationalize strategies and ideas into actionable workplans, processes, and deliverables in collaboration with internal teams and external partners. Supports development and execution of strategic plans, including business plans and patient education strategies.
  • Design and facilitates internal meetings to promote engagement, shared learning, and collaborative decision-making among cross-functional stakeholders. Captures action items and follows up to ensure momentum.
  • Lead project documentation and administration, including maintaining timelines, tracking progress toward milestones, managing budgets, and preparing progress reports and presentations for internal and external audiences.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts, helping to refine internal workflows, enhance team coordination, and improve operational efficiency.

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Public Health or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of three (3) years prior related experience (5 to 7 years preferred)
  • Demonstrated project management experience, including use of tools and methodologies to support execution across complex projects
  • Experience in public health, health education, or nonprofit program development
  • Demonstrated ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects in varying stages of development under time constraints
  • Ability to influence leadership and key stakeholders at varying levels
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills and ability to communicate and present ideas across diverse audiences
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, documentation, and budget tracking

Preferred

  • Knowledge of community-based best practices for engaging community-based organizations
  • Knowledge of health organizations (5 years preferred)
  • Experience managing partnerships or funder relationships, including preparing reports and status updates (3 years preferred)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to develop clear summaries, reports, and presentation materials
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and in a collaborative, fast-paced environment

 

Compensation & Benefits

Expected pay range will be $95,000 to $105,000. Pay is commensurate with experience; geographic differentials to the pay range may apply. The American Heart Association reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range.
