Short Description

The trained Surgical technologist, under the direct supervision of the Registered Professional Nurse and/or physician, is assigned as an assistant to specific service areas in the Surgical Suite.

Experience Required

  • 1 year of Surgical Technologist experience is preferred

Education Requirements

  • Graduate of a nationally or regionally accredited educational program for Surgical Technologists

License/Certification Requirements

  • Certified Surgical Technologist Credential administered by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or its successor, or other nationally recognized credentialing organization (e.g. NCCT – National Center for Competency Testing, etc.)

Special Requirements

  • Must annually complete 15 hours of continuing education to remain qualified to practice as a Surgical Technologist in NJ
