Design Center Consultant

Job Description

David Weekley Homes is currently seeking an enthusiastic, customer service-oriented Design Consultant for our Design Center located in Orlando, FL.

We are seeking candidates with prior design experience to offer design guidance and product knowledge to our customers as they make the selections to customize the interior of their David Weekley Home. The Design Consultant will also set expectations with home buyers regarding the selection process.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide professional and enthusiastic customer service for customers calling and visiting the New Home Design Center
  • Assisting buyers with making selections to customize their home and pricing options
  • Entering customer information/selections into computer system
  • Prepare decorator selection package that includes drawing details
  • Prepare decorator selection packages for quick move-in homes
  • Meet vendors to review new product offerings
  • Coordinate with Builders to confirm correct features, options and upgrades
  • Educate the buyer and set realistic expectations regarding the design selection process
  • Maintain design center samples and signage
  • Prepare reports and maintain updated inventory and supplies
  • Additional tasks as needed including scheduling appointments with home buyers/designers, answering phones, filing, organizing, interacting with internal and external customers

Qualifications

  • Prior design-related experience with a production homebuilder
  • Interior Design degree preferred
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite, particularly Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to deal with conflict and set expectations
  • Effective communication skills and a sense of urgency
  • Detail-oriented, self-disciplined and organized with excellent follow-up
  • Great listening skills and creative problem solving with the ability to find the root cause, as well as a solution 
  • Must be a team player with an enthusiastic attitude
  • Operates with a high level of integrity
  • Solid time management skills
  • Willingness to learn and adapt

Additional Information

Work Schedule:

  • Monday-Friday from 9 am-5 pm, with the flexibility to work longer hours as needed for customer appointments
  • Required to work until 7:00 pm up to two nights per month for Preview Nights
