Job Description

DeAngelo Contracting Services (DCS) is seeking a skilled and reliable Industrial Vegetation Management Spray Technician (IVM Technician) to join our team. In this role, you will work in both urban and rural areas, applying herbicides to control unwanted vegetation along county and state roadside rights-of-way. You'll be responsible for vegetation management across various commercial and industrial sites, ensuring these areas remain clear of weeds, grasses, and brush.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply herbicides for effective weed, grass, and brush control across diverse sites, including oil refineries, solar fields, substations, and gas lines.
  • Perform daily tank mixing and calibrate spray equipment for proper functionality.
  • Conduct thorough inspections and maintenance of trucks and spray systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Adhere to strict safety protocols while completing all tasks to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Operate company vehicles in accordance with company guidelines.

Preferred Technical Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of various weed, grass, and brush species.
  • Strong understanding of herbicides, their targeted control, and the associated safety protocols.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of application techniques and the equipment used.
  • Proficiency in equipment calibration and understanding spray patterns.

Qualifications

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Experience:

  • 21+ years of age or older.
  • Drivers license with 5 years of clean driving history required.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test, DOT physical, and background check to work on federal property.
  • In state travel required.
  • Commercial Applicator’s License preferred (Company will provide certification if not already obtained).
  • Ability to lift 50-60 pounds.
  • Experience with the mobile iOS operating system is a plus.
  • Availability to work nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
