ELPEDISON, with its two privately-owned power plants in Thisvi (Voiotia) and Thessaloniki, with a total installed capacity of 820 MW, uses natural gas as fuel and ensures a clean and continuous electricity flow, based on a highly environmentally-friendly power generation process.

We are currently looking for a Business Intelligence Engineer who will be Responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the organization's business intelligence tools that enable the collection, analysis, and dissemination of business intelligence insights. This role requires a strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL processes, data modeling, data analysis, and data visualization.

What you will do:

  • Develop and maintain data models to support business intelligence reporting,dashboarding and analysis using BI Tools.
  • Develop and maintain data flows for extracting, transforming and loading datasets to business intelligence tools according to cross-data architecture standards.
  • Optimize data queries and data processing workflows to ensure that data can be analyzed quickly and efficiently by data visualization tools.
  • Monitor data pipelines to ensure that reports perform optimally.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for data systems, including data dictionaries, system architecture diagrams, and standard operating procedures following Data Management Framework.
  • Collaborate with data and business analysts to understand their data needs and develop reporting solutions that meet those needs. Support and trains key users relating to BI Reporting tools/solutions.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation within the data landscape and business intelligence reporting processes.

What you will need in order to succeed:

  • A BSc in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Analytics or relevant field.
  • Postgraduate will be considered an asset.
  • 3-6 years of experience in Visualization or Data Consuming.
  • Hands-on experience in developing and maintaining reports and data pipelines with Microsoft.
  • Fabric or other Azure Services like Data Factory and Synapse Analytics.
  • Hands-on experience with Data Visualization Tools like Tableau, Power BI, or other BI tools to create complex charts, graphs, and dashboards that are easy to understand.
  • Understanding of data flow modeling, ETL, data lakes and cloud-based solution development standards.
  • Understanding of data architecture principles and how these can be practically applied within a similar organization.
  • Understanding data and query optimization, query profiling, and query performance monitoring tools and techniques.
  • Hands-on experience with SQL database and Power BI DAX context.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
