Qualifications: Previous editorial experience is desirable but not required. A broad scientific interest and a critical mindset are important for understanding the journal's diverse topics.
Location: The position is located in Cambridge, MA, USA; this is primarily an in-house role with opportunities for flexible work.
Compensation: Not provided by employer. Typical compensation ranges for this position are between $65,000 - $90,000.

About the team
We are looking for a dynamic scientist to join the iScience editorial team and to work with the broader Cell Press Physical Science portfolio as a joint member of the Research Integrity and Author Experience team. This joint role is an exciting opportunity to engage with and shape the physical science research that iScience publishes, while also working more broadly across journals to innovate within the publishing and peer review process, with flexible work arrangements considered. We welcome applications from candidates with a PhD in the physical sciences, particularly those with strong expertise in chemistry and/or energy.
About the role
You will engage with iScience, an exciting broad scope open access journal publishing in the life, physical sciences, health, Earth, and social sciences, within the prestigious Cell Press imprint. You will recruit exciting research papers and asses submitted research papers and reviewer feedback at iScience and relevant journals across the Physical Science portfolio, while establishing relationships with researchers and diverse editorial teams. Additionally, you will work on cross-journal projects and initiatives, coordinating closely with authors and editors to optimize overall publishing success across our portfolio of physical science journals. The job also entails traveling to scientific conferences and research where you will directly interact with the scientific community and hear about cutting-edge research developments.
