POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The Sr. MQA Supervisor is an experienced supervisor and SME in their area of responsibility. Oversee the coordination of all daily Manufacturing Quality Assurance inspection activities related to batch production. This position will help promote a safe, high quality team environment, and the overall corporate image of excellence through a strong work ethic and solid leadership. The Sr. Supervisor will lead, coach, train, and develop MQA staff and assisting them with documenting and responding to any quality-related issues that occur on the production floor. This fast-paced position requires the ability to plan, multi-task and execute daily.
DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
• Maintain a good working relationship with employees through strong interpersonal and oral communications, teamwork, counseling, and fair and consistent implementation of Company policies and procedures• Plan, supervise and direct MQA Team personnel to achieve short- and long-term departmental objectives• Maintain two-way dialog with direct reports on work and results• Communicate company and departmental goals and objectives assuring that these are clearly understood by the team.• Take ownership of department deficiencies and implements countermeasures with the appropriate sense of urgency. Communicate deficiencies and countermeasures to the MQA Manager.• Lead, delegate and prioritize the work of MQA Technicians.• Skilled at working with team to improve productivity in the plant. Helps establish work practices, operating procedures, and work instructions to enhance overall performance and efficiency of the plant.• Demonstrates a high level of understanding of all quality requirements. Identifies and corrects quality issues through root cause analysis.• Communicate clearly and accurately (both written and verbal) in Build it Better meetings, primary and secondary pass downs, planning meetings, during staff meetings, and provides feedback to all other shiftsand departments to ensure efficiency and quality throughout the plant.• Promotes a team atmosphere, and the overall corporate image of excellence through a strong work ethic and solid leadership. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Skills:• A proven track record of establishing and maintaining collaborative working relationships with internal customers, vendors, and team.• Good interpersonal and communication skills• Coaching and mentoring skills – development of team• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in written English• Computer literacy, PC and software experience• Ability to lift a minimum of 30 lbs.• MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and Outlook proficiency• Strong ability to work independently and as a team member under the pressure of manufacturing• Exemplary attention to detail• Coaching, mentoring, and ability to hold self, team, and others accountable.• Ability to drive and own decision making.• Critical thinking skills for fast paced environment.Experience:• A minimum of 5 years of Supervisory experience in FDA or GMP regulated industry• PCQI or HACCP Certification• Manufacturing experience in a multi-shift facilityEducation:• 2-year college degree required from an accredited institution or additional 2 years of experience FDA or GMP regulated industry in lieu of degree PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:• 4-year college degree from an accredited institution• minimum of 2 years of experience supervising or leading staff• ASQ Certification as Certified Quality Inspector (CQI)• 5 years of experience with food (consumer products), supplement, or pharmaceutical manufacturing, particularly roles involved with quality inspection or quality assurance• Knowledge and understanding of GMP quality systems• Knowledge of the developing, reviewing, and revising SOP's.• Understanding of the implementation/adherence of food safety systems• Knowledge of FMEA, RCA, and/or ability to instruct investigative techniques.
