Plant Protection Officer I

Essential Duties:

This is an entry level position which reports to the Plant Protection Manager under the Security Director. Candidate will assist in emergency preparedness, education, evacuations, and emergency response. Candidate will assist with the overall physical security of the sites and provide support during emergency operations. This position offers great opportunity for growth and development.


Emergency Operations

Assist in the planning and development of emergency action plans, reporting, and response.

Assist the incident commander during emergencies.

Operate fire, life, safety equipment in support of ongoing projects, emergencies, and routine maintenance.

Assist in operating the Emergency Operations Center. 

Assist in inspecting fire protection equipment and checking for system/equipment irregularities.

Perform other duties as necessary.


Physical Security

Assist in Badge and ID.

Review and approve general visitor requests.

Process and file security information.

Conduct regular physical security checks and assessments.

Assist in investigations with both internal and external partners. 

Track and document badge control issues. 

Assist in investigations with both internal and external partners. 

Validate an array of identification cards to include foreign passports.

Maintain and enable badge access for those personnel meeting established Security and Program requirements.

Perform other duties as necessary. 


Required Skills:

Minimum of 1 year working in a Security or Emergency Operations position.

Prior experience working in support of both emergency operations and security operations is desired but not required.

Prior military experience is strongly desired.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to successfully interact with internal/external customers across organizational levels. Ability to work independently and follow projects through to completion

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Visio). 

First Aid, CPR/AED certified is required. 

Ability to review and understand architectural designs. 

Ability to effectively communicate with company staff, vendors, contractors, and government partners. 

Working knowledge of Trade Compliance Regulations is desired. 

Candidate must be able to work diligently without supervision.

Candidate must be able to work well with a diverse team of professionals.


Required Education:

High School Diploma with 1+ years of experience.

Bachelor’s degree may be used in lieu of experience. 


Physical Requirements:

Candidate must be able to operate fire extinguishers, fire hose lines, and fire protection equipment.

Candidate must be able to walk hilly terrain for extended periods of time.

Candidate must be able to lift 50 lbs.

 

Special Requirements:

U.S. Citizenship required.

Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance and up to Top Secret/SCI with a polygraph required. 


Compensation:

The pay range for this position is $25.01 - $30.53 per hour + bonus + benefits.

Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
