Workday Principle Business Application Analyst

Job Description:

This role leads other business analysts, operational subject matter experts, and external consultants with the implementation and optimization of financial management, enterprise resource planning, human resource management and timekeeping/scheduling systems. It involves analyzing business needs, configuring applications, and ensuring the system meets the operational requirements of the organization. Consults and provides guidance to cross-functional teams such as Human Resources, Payroll, Finance, Supply Chain, and Information Technology. This role is specifically going to work with Workday within our Supply Chain

Essential Functions

  • Provides leadership and mentorship; drives initiatives and influences strategic decisions. Participates in vendor or industry user groups, community discussions, and/or Industry Client Advisory Boards. Responsible for roadmap execution and early adopter/pilot programs. Leads out on artificial intelligence / machine learning adoption.
  • Leads enterprise-wide implementation and optimization; manages complex multi-related module projects and strategic initiatives
  • Manages complex enterprise projects; oversees project portfolios; Work collaboratively with the DTS Project Manager (if applicable) team assuring key initiatives are organized, planned, and managed
  • Provides guidance in solving complex issues, Strategizes with stakeholders and team members through analyzing and diagnosing problems to determine resolution. Leads the design, implementation, and maintenance of system solutions. Provide strategic insights and recommendations to optimize system functionality. Owns highly complex configuration and process build
  • Consults on development of training and knowledge-based materials for use by peers, end-users, and other team members. Mentors and identifies training opportunities for team
  • Expert functional domain and technical expertise in financial management supply chain, enterprise resource planning, human resource management, or timekeeping/scheduling systems. Liaison between teams and external vendors.
  • Consults on the development of enterprise-level documentation standards and governance
  • Consults and develops highly complex ad-hoc custom reports and integrations; leverages multiple data sources using comprehensive understanding of types of information used in area of expertise, how the data is produced, consumed, transformed, and analyzed to support business decisions.
  • Provides expert guidance on best practices and standardization; resolves complex cross-functional issues; serves as escalation point person. Attend and/or facilitate workgroup meetings, steering committee meetings. Advocate that leaders use data to make decisions.
  • Responsible for quality review of team projects, systems configuration, operational readiness, processes. Creates remediation plan for any issues identified.

  • Extensive experience with financial management, enterprise resource planning, human resource management, or timekeeping/scheduling systems including architecture and integration
  • Strategic knowledge of information technology, healthcare, or business operations and industry trends
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with ability to influence C-level stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills with strategic problem-solving capability
  • Ability to work collaboratively and lead cross-functional teams
  • Extensive project management skills with a proven track record of leading complex projects

Minimum Qualifications

  • Demonstrates a strong knowledge of financial management, enterprise resource planning, human resource management, or timekeeping/scheduling systems.
  • 5 years of experience working in a Business or Applications Analyst role.
  • Professional and/or multiple vendor-specific certifications required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience working with Workday ERP, UKG Workforce Pro, or Strata.
  • Extensive, large scale enterprise implementation experience
  • Comprehensive understanding of business, healthcare, and strategic operations

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience. 

$53.58 - $84.36
