Job Description:

L3Harris is seeking a Sr Specialsit, Tool Design Engineer to join our growing facility in Camden, Arkansas . In this role, the selected individual will design manufacturing tooling for the production of solid fuel rocket motors and warheads. This person will develop jigs, fixtures, lifting devices, and semi-automated equipment to cast and assemble the final product.

Essential Functions:

• Design mechanical equipment using PTC Creo and Windchill
• Interface with production, program management and safety to develop requirements and tooling needs
• Define existing equipment problems, design repairs and modifications
• Ability to obtain a US security clearance

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior design engineering experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior design engineering experience experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior design engineering experience
• 3 years of experience in the design of tooling to support manufacturing
• 4 years of experience using a solid modeling program such as Unigraphics NX, Pro-Engineer, AutoCAD Inventor, Catia, CREO or Solid Works

Preferred Additional Qualifications:

• Experience working in the defense industry is a plus
• Knowledge of air controls
