As Sr. Director, Operational Excellence/Strategy & Product Lead, you will play a key role in enabling the enterprise evolution of the Medtronic Performance System (MPS). You will have responsibility for planning and executing process improvements, aligned with strategic goals, across Medtronic businesses, and functions, including Strategy & Technology, Research & Development, and Commercial.
In this position, you will work closely with functional leaders to accelerate their understanding and adoption of MPS; facilitate training and kaizen events; and develop standards and capability assessments to assure sustained progress. You will coach global functional leaders to build organizational capabilities to create a sustainable culture of continuous improvement while working with functional teams to instantiate process evolutions driving business results.
You will be at the forefront of Medtronic’s Mission to Alleviate Pain, Restore Health, and Extend Life by developing the skills and competencies of our teams to deliver life-saving products.
A Day in the Life
Facilitate strategic kaizen events with executive leadership teams.
Partner, develop, govern, and deliver sustained quantitative and qualitative business results and Operational excellence effectiveness within Strategy & Technology, Research & Development, and Commercial functions.
Identify organizational needs required to achieve strategic plans. Develop and execute plans that deliver annual improvements in performance, process excellence, and programmatic savings
Partner with senior leaders and functional subject matter experts to build and assess organizational MPS capabilities to groom “one best way” methods and tools with specific focus on simplifying complex processes
Provide governance of scorecards that include quantitative and qualitative assessments of OpEx effectiveness within functions
Manage team performance, develop talent, promote engagement and inclusion, and direct the responsibilities of the team.
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree and 15+ years of experience in two or more functions, such as commercial, engineering, product development, strategy, automation, business operations as well as operational excellence roles (TPM, DBS, etc.)
Certified: Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent
Nice to Have:
Experience implementing a new program and evolving it from an immature to a mature program with adoption and practical application across multiple functional domains
Dynamic and engaging executive level facilitation/training skills.
Strong coaching and influential leadership skills
Advanced change management skills.
Ability to convey and communicate complex concepts simply and clearly.
