Position: Conversion Rate Optimisation Lead
Location: Remote (based in the UK)
Employment type: 12-month fixed-term contract
Department: Product
NerdWallet UK is looking for a Conversion Rate Optimisation (CRO) Lead to join our Product Team (UK) on a 12-month fixed-term contract. In this key role, you'll help shape the future of our website and user experience—delivering meaningful commercial impact, driving insights, and supporting NerdWallet’s growth. You'll focus on understanding online user behaviour, uncovering barriers to conversion, and designing experiments to optimise performance. By analysing user data and making sense of analytics, you'll generate recommendations and collaborate with the wider UK team to ideate, test, and launch impactful initiatives. You’ll also play a crucial role in presenting findings and proposals to senior stakeholders across the business.
To thrive in this role, you’ll be a self-starter who’s comfortable taking ownership and working collaboratively to deliver business goals and user value. You're commercially minded, with a deep understanding of e-commerce and a passion for improving conversion and driving revenue. You bring strong analytical skills, hands-on experience with A/B testing platforms (such as GA4, Hotjar, A/B Smartly, and BI tools), and a knack for turning data into compelling stories. You’re confident leading workshops, aligning cross-functional teams, and staying ahead of CRO trends and technologies. Above all, you're driven by continuous improvement and excited about finding new ways to innovate, optimise, and create great user experiences.
Consider the entire customer experience and lifecycle and help to make sure every touchpoint delivers on our goals
Educate teams and colleagues about conversion rate optimization, data driven decision making and experimentation best practices
Manage A/B and multivariant tests, analyse the results, and make sure the insights lead to action resulting in smooth, intuitive, and conversion-boosting experiences
Partner with product designers and developers, to influence commercial outcomes for our users through data-driven solutions and decision making
Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand their business goals, identify opportunities, gain consensus on action plans
Create clear reporting and status updates for cross-functional partners
Run interactive conversion rate optimization sessions with the team that are focused on driving improvements and ensuring alignment
In partnership with the product and engineering team, utilise analytics to identify underperforming parts of a site and problem solve
Identify patterns in user behaviour and translate them into meaningful commercial opportunities that add value for our users
We recognize not everyone will meet all of the criteria. If you meet most of the criteria below and you’re excited about the opportunity and willing to learn, we’d love to hear from you.
