Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal Software Engineer - 14474. This positions will be located in Colorado Springs, CO or Roy, Utah and will support the Sentinel program.
Data Integration and Analytics (DIA) involves understanding, developing and delivering metrics capabilities and reports to support both the business and customer needs. DIA is responsible for directly interfacing with segment leads and the Chief Engineering Office to ensure successful implementation of business processes and quality standards across the program. DIA builds and maintains a Python based platform design to interface with many disparate tools and systems to collect and manage data for visualization and pattern development. DIA leverages PostgreSQL RDBMS along with in house design data management patterns to ensure high availability and clean data relationship.
What You’ll Get To Do:
• Direct interfacing and communication with IPT leads and senior managers to ensure complete understanding and implementation of baseline processes and procedures driven by metrics.
• Understanding the capabilities of the DIAmetrics platform and work to enhance and maintain the platform to ensure consistent and accurate data processing.
• Helping the DIA team maintain and enhance our product and product backlog to ensure accuracy, speed and relevance of metrics.
• Assisting the DIA team in creation, updates and delivery of quarterly CDRL deliveries for customer use.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
• Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years
• Must be able to be successfully screened for Enhanced Security Clearances, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs
• Bachelors in science with years 5 experience or Masters with 3 years experience or PhD with 1 year experience or an additional 4 years in lieu of degree.
• Strong understanding of Agile Software Development Lifecycle from Design to Integration
• Identifies, communicates, and quantifies opportunities for leveraging analytics solutions and applying data analytics
• Acts as liaison with decision makers by providing data-informed strategic direction, and as a liaison with subject matter experts to obtain data sets and set expectations for potential of data analytics
• Understanding of managing data pipelines in Python utilizing object oriented/platform architecture
• Familiarity with SQL Database Platforms e.g. Microsoft SQL Server/PostgreSQL including writing views/stored procedures/functions
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% to support business needs
Preferred Qualifications:
• Ability to collaborate with separate product teams and ensure process cohesion and alignment with overall planning framework
• Ability to analyze and visualize data in an easy to understand and concise pattern for leadership and business use.
• Familiarity with web based API discovery and interaction development in Python.
• Experience in generating and delivering documents (e.g., CDRLs) on recurring cadence for government use.
• Understanding of MBSE modeling tools, such as Cameo or a similar product.

Salary Range: $95,300.00 - $150,500.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
