As a Health Promoter, you'll play a vital role in advancing mental health promotion across Peel. From program design to community engagement, your work will directly influence how we support mental well-being for residents of all ages and backgrounds.

 

Your Impact

  • Lead Meaningful Health Promotion Work – Plan, implement, and evaluate innovative programs and strategies to improve mental well-being.• Shape Policy & Practice – Analyze data and trends to provide evidence-based recommendations for health promotion policies.• Champion Community Needs – Conduct assessments that uncover what matters most to our residents and stakeholders.• Create Compelling Content – Develop engaging communications including social media posts, web pages, reports, and knowledge translation tools.• Mobilize Action – Support community-led initiatives that empower individuals and organizations to take charge of mental health.• Foster Collaboration – Build strong relationships with internal teams, community partners, and government organizations.• Promote Equity & Inclusion – Ensure programs reflect the diversity and lived experiences of Peel residents.• Think Holistically – Apply health promotion theory, social determinants of health, population health, and public health sciences in your work.

What You Bring

  • Education & Experience: University degree in a health-related field, with at least 1 year of relevant experience in health promotion, program planning, or evaluation.• Public Health Knowledge: Strong grasp of health promotion frameworks, social determinants of health, epidemiology, and Ontario Public Health Standards.• Research & Analysis Skills: Experience conducting situational assessments, scoping reviews, and evidence-informed decision-making.• Tech Savvy: Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint), with knowledge of social media and communication tools.• Communication & Collaboration: Skilled at writing, facilitating, and presenting to diverse audiences, with a track record of building successful partnerships.• Equity Focus: Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in your work and interactions.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience in mental health promotion, mental illness prevention, or community-based mental well-being initiatives.• Background in knowledge translation, visual communication, or public engagement.

Work Mode:

In this role, you’ll benefit from a hybrid work arrangement that fosters meaningful in-person connections. A minimum of two days per week on-site is expected, with additional in-person presence as operational needs evolve. This arrangement allows for a blend of in-person and remote work to balance organizational priorities and employee flexibility.

 

Note: Your off-site work location must be within the province of Ontario to ensure compliance with regulations and policies.
