Resource Innovations Inc. in Chicago, IL seeks Lead Engineer II/Engineering Lead II. Establish and maintain a professional client relationship, including identifying and anticipating client EE needs and proposing solutions. Conduct site visits for commercial and industrial customers to verify installation and operation of replacement energy efficient equipment. Lead and support measurement and verification tasks including the installations of field monitoring equipment to establish energy usage patterns. Research, develop, present, and implement new energy conservation measures and provide technical assistance. Efficiently manage multiple projects, provide timely updates and report KPI’s to management and client. Conduct training seminars to educate stakeholders on latest EE technologies and new developments in the marketplace. Collaborate and work within a multi-disciplinary team to perform and lead technical work supporting energy efficiency programs. Work closely and collaboratively with other program staff (program management, engineering, marketing, etc.) to achieve client and program goals. Manage, lead, and mentor a dynamic team by setting and reviewing performance standards and objectives for direct reports. Provide technical assistance to support energy efficiency project implementation. Lead and support standard energy efficiency program measure design activities related to expansion and verification of existing energy efficiency measures and energy savings. Manage Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) process and deliverables with external and internal stakeholders. Write technical reports summarizing results from energy audits to quantify savings amounts and incentive payments. Perform energy efficiency calculations by using spreadsheets and energy simulation modeling software i.e. eQuest, EnergyPlus. Work on new energy conservation measure research and development and provide technical support to the team. Perform and review energy savings calculations for various HVAC, Lighting, Refrigeration, Compressed air measures, evaluating energy savings and environmental impact.
Travel: 15% domestic travel required; Telecommuting is permitted within commutable distance to the office.

Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Energy, or Environmental Engineering, or a related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or in a related engineering role. Must have experience with (i) managing, reviewing, and conducting Energy Assessments (ASHRAE level I and II); (ii) Performing engineering analyses such as weather regressions and statistical mod; (iii) Building and energy modeling/simulation tools, specifically EnergyPlus and eQUEST; (iv) Design, specification of HVAC, and building automation/controls; (v) working with program evaluators on annual evaluation cycles; (vi) designing and working with incentive programs and energy regulations; (vii) working with statewide Technical Resource Manual committee to discuss and develop engineering calculations; and (viii) Energy efficiency codes and standards such as ASHRAE 90.1, IECC, and Code of Federal Regulations. Must be a Certified Energy Manager (CEM).
