Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Product Manager (PM) to oversee the development and enhancement of the payments offerings on our new investment platform. 

As the PM for payments, you will play a crucial role in developing our payment services, ensuring that our platform meets the evolving needs of our clients while adhering to industry standards. You will work alongside a highly motivated team of software engineers, product managers and academics implementing change in the financial industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • End-to-End Product Ownership: Own the product development process from discovery to launch, ensuring high-quality delivery of innovative solutions to challenging problems.
  • Product Strategy & Roadmap Development: Define and execute a comprehensive product strategy and roadmap that aligns with client needs and company goals.
  • Client Experience: Implement user-centric improvements across our payments offerings, enhancing the platform to meet changing client expectations.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and regulatory bodies to ensure seamless integration of payment solutions with other Scalable Capital services and the complex and regulated capital markets infrastructure.
  • Delivery Management: Coordinate resources, create timelines, and manage dependencies across teams to ensure optimal delivery of products.
  • Agile Methodologies: Utilize agile methodologies to drive product development, facilitating regular ceremonies including sprint planning, retrospectives, and cross-team alignments to enhance collaboration and transparency.

Qualifications

  • In-depth knowledge of SEPA payments, including Credit Transfer (SCT), Direct Debit (SDD), Instant Credit Transfer (SCT Inst) and R-transactions.
  • Familiar with message formats such as camt, pacs, and MT, ensuring effective communication and data exchange between financial institutions.
  • Insight into the roles and responsibilities of key entities of the European payment infrastructure, such as SWIFT, Bundesbank, ECB, and EPC, and their interactions within the payment ecosystem.
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks governing financial transactions and compliance with anti-money laundering (AML) and sanctions laws.
  • Passion for technology, finance and digital products
  • Experience in product management ideally in the payments or banking domain
  • Experience in building highly scalable & reliable cloud-native, microservice-based technology platforms
  • Strong analytical thinking, leveraging both quantitative and qualitative data to drive decisions
  • Utmost attention to detail and a culture of excellence
  • Excellent communication skills that are clear, concise, and targeted towards your audience - software engineer, stakeholder or executive
  • A great understanding of and focus on customer problems and needs
  • Hands-on mentality: from ideation and research to prototype and user story, you can handle it
  • Experience with common agile working tools like Jira, Confluence, Figma and similar applications
  • Excellent English communication skills (German is advantageous but not necessary)
