Join us as a Program Coordinator II - Community Health Organizer for the Texas A&M Opioid Prevention for Students (TOPS) program. In this role, you'll manage administrative tasks, coordinate educational campaigns, and engage with the community to create a lasting impact on the lives of Texas youth.

Supervise and train staff to effectively deliver opioid prevention education.
Manage fiscal activities and reporting to maintain transparency and demonstrate program growth.
Minimum Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience: Four years of related experience
Licenses/Certifications: Certified Health Education Specialists (CHES) or Master Certified Health Education Specialist (MCHES)
The well-qualified candidate should also have experience in public, community, or external relations, or event planning, as well a Master's or Doctorate in Public Health (or other doctoral level degree).

Salary: Compensation will be commensurate to the selected hire’s experience.
Schedule/Travel: This position may require up to 25% or more travel and the flexibility to work beyond normal office hours and/or work on weekends.
Location: This position can be located in College Station, Houston, McAllen, Dallas, Fort Worth or Abilene, Lubbock, San Antonio, Midland-Odessa or El Paso. Please note your preferred location at the next step of the application process.

Some of the Responsibilities Include:
Community Engagement/Stakeholder Relationship Management: Serve as a liaison between community and school decision-makers, coordinate engagement events to ensure program success, to include planning, implementing, and evaluating health programs. Mobilize key decision-makers for TOP project activities, facilitate services between health care providers and the community, and collaborates with Community Health Workers to plan targeted opioid prevention awareness campaigns in Texas.
Program Planning, Implementation and Evaluation: Conduct community needs assessments to identify gaps in youth opioid prevention education, assist with establishing/monitoring policies and strategic planning, oversee opioid prevention awareness activities, expand knowledge of community resources and programs, support schools in accessing mental health resources/services, and attend routine project meetings and training sessions.
Fiscal Management and Budget Oversight: Perform routine fiscal monitoring of allocated budget spending and report to the TOPS leadership team, coordinate purchasing needs, and assist with preparing budgets for programs and events.
Staff Supervision and Training: Complete training in the TOPS K12 opioid prevention education program, serve as a peer leader to train community partners, develop audience-specific training materials, and may supervise program staff.
Reporting and Documenting: Maintain daily activity logs, ensure transparency in reporting project activities, monitor and report TOPS deliverable milestones, and assist with data collection for opioid prevention programs.
