Manufacturing Engineering Intern (Summer 2025)

Terran Orbital is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineering Interns  to join our growing team. Reporting to the Director, Advanced Modules, the Manufacturing Engineering Interns will have an incredible opportunity for motivated students to shape the outcome of our commercial and defense space capabilities and develop engineering skills.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Implement and analyze manufacturing plans and projects
  • Drive continuous improvements to focus on cost and labor reduction in every element of the production processes
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose problems with existing processes or products and make modifications as needed Support space hardware production, including new processes from initial design to production release
  • Create and update product process plans for assembly and test to increase efficiency while promoting quality and safety.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Must be enrolled in a bachelor’s or post-graduate degree program in an engineering discipline and have at least one semester of classes remaining after the internship
  • Ability to work full-time, on-site for 10 to 12 consecutive weeks beginning in May or June 2025
  • 3+ months of applied engineering experience (internship, laboratory, and team project experience is applicable)
  • Highly self-motivated and organized with strong written and oral communication skills
  • Able to work well in an integrated team, including daily interactions with technicians, engineers, and manager

Additional Differentiators

  • Design software experience (AutoCAD or SolidWorks preferred)
  • Experience with design for manufacturability, assembly, reliability, and source-ability

Salary range: $25.00 - $30.00

Physical Demands

An employee must meet the physical demands described to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. In performing the duties of this job, the employee is routinely required to sit or stand for long durations of time, in addition to bending, reaching, and walking. This would require the ability to lift or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move objects up to 25 pounds. This position is generally sedentary, with substantial computer usage.

Work Environment

The job operates in a professional office environment but in a manufacturing company. This job routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and scanners.
