Job Details:
For academic year 2025-2026, McCombs School of Business is looking for a tech savvy, organized, and high energy student employee to provide support for Kendra Scott WELI.  

The Kendra Scott Women’s Entrepreneurial Leadership Institute (KS WELI) at The University of Texas at Austin will strengthen the next generation of courageous, creative women leaders who will change the world — in business and beyond. Purpose:

The Content Creator Intern will support the Communications Specialist by assisting with social media management and content creation for KS WELI’s digital platforms. This role is perfect for someone who is excited about storytelling, comfortable being on camera, and eager to develop their skills in videography, copywriting, and social media strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop engaging and on-brand social media content, including graphics, videos, and copy.
  • Manage and schedule content across Instagram, LinkedIn, and other platforms.
  • Capture and edit video content, including short-form content and event recaps.
  • Monitor social media trends and implement best practices to increase engagement.
  • Collaborate with the Videography & Editing Intern and Graphic Design Intern to ensure high-quality visuals and storytelling.
  • Assist in managing community engagement through comments, messages, and interactive content.
  • Support live coverage of KS WELI events and initiatives.
  • Promote and present the KS WELI throughout campus and participate in events, presentations, speaker series, and resources that help with engagement and awareness.
  • Be instrumental in creating processes and procedures to ensure the efficient and effective operation during all events and programming hosted by KS WELI
  • Conduct research for KS WELI-related projects as needed
  • Participate in regular trainings and development activities to promote team building and collaboration, as well as individual development
  • 10-15 Hours weekly commitment. Active communication style is essential. 
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Digital Portfolio Required for review, in addition to Resume and Cover Letter.
  • 2-3 examples of past social media posts, video content, or campaigns they have created.
  • Optional: An Instagram Reel where they introduce themselves and why they want the role.
  • Passion for digital storytelling and content creation.
  • Experience with Instagram, LinkedIn, and other social media platforms.
  • Basic video editing skills using tools like Adobe Premiere, CapCut, or Canva.
  • Strong writing and communication skills.
  • Comfortable being on camera and interacting with an audience.
  • Experience creating processes and procedures to ensure the efficient and effective execution of every Program and Event hosted by the KS WELI
  • Strong understanding of the entrepreneurial and venture ecosystem. Willingness to learn is preferred. 
  • Writing and proofing skills are also required, technology mastery is critical across software and hardware platforms. 
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and administrative skills. Responsive communication (less than 24 hours latest), Respectful to other interns and staff.
  • Ability to work independently and complete assigned tasks within an identified time frame.
  • Organized, dependable and detail oriented
  • Proficiency in Google Drive, Slack, Click Up, and/or Airtable preferred.
  • Available to work 10-15 hours per week during the semester, typically between the hours of 9 AM - 5PM. CST, with occasional nights and weekends for networking events where applicable.
  • Must be a University of Texas at Austin student, enrolled for at least 6 credit hours.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Optional: Work-Study award for the semester.

Hourly Rate:

  • $10+ Depending on Qualifications

Working Conditions:

  • Work performed in standard office conditions.
  • Repetitive use of keyboard at a workstation.

Schedule Work Shift:

  • 10-15 hours per week
  • Position ends on 05/31/2026
  • Optional: Must be available to consistently work evenings and weekends.
  • Optional: Rehire eligible based on performance.
