Our client, a premier financial services firm, is seeking a Data and AI Risk Governance Lead for their Investments & Capital Markets division in New York, NY. This key strategic role is designed to support and advance enterprise-wide risk programs in the evolving landscape of Data Management and AI technologies.
Position Overview
As the Data and AI Risk Governance Lead, you will play a pivotal role in developing and overseeing data governance frameworks and ensuring the responsible use of AI technologies within the firm. By aligning divisional goals with corporate risk management strategies, you will help shape a data-driven, risk-conscious environment.
Your Impact
Partner Collaboration: Work with legal, technical, and business teams to communicate risk findings and drive decision-making processes that ensure data and AI compliance.
Risk Assessment & Remediation: Conduct in-depth risk assessments for data management and AI initiatives, proposing effective mitigation strategies to manage risks.
Policy Development: Develop and refine governance policies for AI usage, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and compliance with industry and regulatory standards.
Ethical AI Advocacy: Advocate for ethical considerations in AI usage, focusing on transparency, fairness, and accountability to mitigate risks.
Security Support: Provide subject-matter expertise to information security teams on data management and AI-related security concerns.
Compliance Oversight: Ensure compliance with established data and AI governance policies and provide corrective guidance where necessary.
Training & Awareness: Develop and promote training programs to enhance enterprise-wide understanding of data and AI risks, best practices, and governance standards.
Metrics & Reporting: Work collaboratively to define and report on enterprise KPIs and KRIs that monitor risks related to data, AI, and models.
Qualifications
8+ years of experience in operational risk management, particularly related to technology, information, and model risk.
A bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a relevant field.
2-5 years in a management or leadership role, with a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and initiatives.
Strong knowledge of Data Management best practices and AI technologies (e.g., machine learning, natural language processing).
Familiarity with key regulations (GDPR, CCPA) and industry standards (IEEE, NIST, ISO/IEC).
Exceptional communication, collaboration, and leadership skills, with the ability to influence key stakeholders.
