Job Details:
We are seeking a proactive and organized Graduate Research
Assistant to assist in the planning, coordination, and implementation of a summer workshop series focused on AI in healthcare. The position will involve collaborating with experts across multiple disciplines, including healthcare professionals, social workers, behavioral health experts, and AI researchers. The selected candidate will support event logistics, focus group coordination, and contribute to a final synopsis summarizing key findings and recommendations. The role will provide valuable experience in interdisciplinary research, event
planning, and community engagement.
The Graduate Research Assistant will work closely with the workshop leaders
and collaborators to help plan, organize, and execute a series of workshops focused on the intersection of AI and clinical healthcare practices. The workshops will engage health practitioners and AI researchers to explore the potential applications of AI in various healthcare settings. Additionally, the workshops will feature thought leaders who will share innovative ideas and research about AI’s impact on healthcare delivery. The role also includes organizing focus groups with community members to gather input on the use of AI in health-
related contexts.
Workshop Planning & Coordination - Assist in organizing the schedule, content, and logistics for the summer workshops, including outreach to speakers and organizing attendee participation.
Collaboration with Dell Med - Work alongside Dell Medical School to incorporate cutting-edge clinical and research perspectives into the workshop series.
Focus Group Management - Help design and conduct focus groups with community members to gather valuable insights on public opinions about AI’s role in healthcare.
Proposal Development - Support the creation of a brief proposal for the workshop series, including objectives, speakers, and anticipated outcomes.
Research Synthesis & Reporting - Contribute to the development of a comprehensive synopsis of the workshop discussions, including key takeaways, research findings, and strategic recommendations.
Event Support - Assist with logistical arrangements, technology setup, and coordination during workshop sessions.
Current graduate student in a related field (e.g., public health, social work, behavioral health, data science, health care, or AI).
Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.
Demonstrated interest in the intersection of AI and healthcare.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with virtual meeting platforms (Zoom, MS Teams, etc.).
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Previous experience in research coordination, workshop or event planning, or community engagement.
Familiarity with AI technologies and their applications in healthcare.
Experience in proposal writing or grant applications.
Prior experience working with focus groups or engaging with community stakeholders.
Interest or experience in healthcare policy or strategic planning.
$17 - $20 hourly
Typical Office Environment
Summer months up to 40 hours per week
