Shift: 7a-7p, Fulltime

About Us

Mary & Elizabeth Hospital, part of UofL Health, is a 298-bed, full-service hospital. The hospital offers a full range of orthopedic, cardiac, neurological, surgical, vascular, behavioral health, rehabilitative and 24/7 emergency services. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital is home to the University of Louisville School of Medicine’s Family Medicine residency training program. The hospital has received DNV Certification in the areas of Shoulder Surgery and Advanced Foot & Ankle Surgery. It also been recognized as one of the first health care facilities in the nation to receive a Blue Distinction® Center for bariatric surgery. The hospital was initially founded by the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth in 1874.. UofL Health is home to over 14,000 team members, 1000+ providers, 200+ practice locations, 9 hospitals, and 4 medical centers.

Job Summary

As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering the highest quality patient care according to the specific orders of each patient’s individual physician. This will involve, utilizing your knowledge and skills to educate patients and their families on prevention and healthy habits.

Additional responsibilities for this health care role include:

Monitoring patients’ conditions and assessing their needs

Collaborating with physicians and nurses to devise individualized care plans for patients

Administering patients’ medications and providing treatments according to physicians’ orders

Fostering a supportive and compassionate environment to care for patients and their families

 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program
  • Current KY RN licensure or compact license with privileges to work in Kentucky
  • Basic Life Saving (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) accredited by the American Heart Association (may be required for specific clinical areas).
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (may be required for specific clinical areas)
