High profile analyst that supports the design, planning, implementation, and monitoring of the budget and forecast process of the performance of the organization, which is achieved through advanced analysis of financial and budget data and working in conjunction with leadership and business partners. Provides consultative recommendations in support of strategic financial plan goals and objectives. Participates in cross‐ functional teams and provides analysis for forward‐looking financial and business‐related projects which requires a strong analytical mindset, advanced financial modeling skills, and a deep understanding of health insurance.

a. Financial Planning: Serve in a highly visible position that provides advanced integrated comprehensive reporting, consultation, and financial expertise to drive actionable information to stakeholders while adhering to established accounting standards. Partner with leadership and designated staff in assigned business areas to understand business needs, establish and monitor forecasts and budgets, and facilitate changes in forecast and budgets on an ongoing basis. This includes the entire budget and forecasting process (revenue, benefit expense, operating expenses, etc.).
b. Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings or revenue enhancement. Prepare comprehensive reports for senior management. Communicate the results of analysis to a wide-ranging audience on a regular basis.
c. Financial Modeling and Scenarios: Develop and maintain complex financial models to support strategic initiatives, business case evaluations, and investment analysis. Create scenarios based on the results of the modeling through analysis of assumptions and probability of outcomes.
d. Business Value Realization/ROI: Strategic partner based on value: Collaborate with leadership to develop long-term strategic financial plans, providing financial insights and recommendations to support organizational growth and profitability goals. Develop models to determine if positive value was derived from expenditures.
e. Zero Based Budgeting/Driver Based Budgeting: Consult with business partners to implement zero based budgeting methodologies which includes creating and maintaining a driver-based budgeting methodology. Also includes working with business partners to establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate financial performance and drive operational improvements.
f. Multiple Year Planning: In partnership with business partners, develop a 3-year financial planning outlook for the organization that focuses on alignment with organizational strategy and the highest value generated.
g. Consulting with the Business: Partner with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making. Serve as a consultative partner in helping the business solve complex issues. Perform key analysis on all potential investments of the company’s resources. Extract, analyze, interpret, and integrate data to draw conclusions and support recommendations made to stakeholders.
h. Presentations: Present at leadership team meetings with senior leaders of the organization as a subject matter expert and provide recommendations on how to improve the value derived.
i. Technical Capabilities: Draft reports, create interfaces and models in financial planning system (i.e. Adaptive), or a similar type of tool. Interpret accounting literature and apply to what the impact is on the organization’s forecast and budget.
j. Ad hoc Analysis: Conduct ad hoc financial analyses to support management initiatives and projects as needed.
k. Financial Acumen and Self-Service: Work with business partners to grow the financial acumen of the organization by teaching the key financial metrics of success. Through this work continuously improve the set of self-service tools available to business partners.
l. Other duties as assigned.
