What I've Learned as a Teenage Entrepreneur!

What I've Learned as a Teenage Entrepreneur!

At the beginning of Covid, it felt like everyone had so much free time on their hands. Some of us watched Tiger King to pass the time, others became their own baristas and made whipped coffee, and some used this time to start their own creative endeavors or businesses. One of the main things that I noticed during Covid was the everlasting boredom that high-schoolers had while being at home all day. As a way to pass the time, I assisted my neighbors through completing tasks or odd jobs that they needed to get done. After a few months, I took it a step further and began recruiting other teenagers for my very own startup, AssistMe Miami. Through AssistMe, my community was given an affordable option to complete those not-so-ordinary jobs that they didn't want to do themselves. Better yet, local high-schoolers were learning about entrepreneurship while also making a profit. Although AssistMe eventually shut down after a year and a half, I learned a lot throughout its existence. I obtained communication, marketing, and financial skills that I would've never been able to learn in a high school classroom, and as an incoming marketing student, I know that I'll be putting these skills to use. Being a teenage entrepreneur isn't necessarily about making a huge profit, it's about learning fundamental skills that you'll use later on in life, and I wouldn't have been able to learn these skills at this age any other way.
