Senior Frontend Engineer (m/f/d) - Checkout - onsite or remote within the EU
Job Description
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Senior Frontend Engineer (m/f/d) to join our Frontend Team in a larger Checkout unit onsite in Hamburg or remotely within the EU.
The Checkout team is responsible for the complete order lifecycle, from customers first placing items into their baskets to handling the refund of a returned item weeks later. Between these two points the team interacts with a multitude of internal and external players, spanning from an in-house CRM team to the external marketplace and multiple payment providers in a variety of countries. The applications the Checkout team maintains span from high traffic & fault tolerance api hubs to security-conscious and reliable backend processing engines.
Since we offer through SCAYLE our in-house developed eCommerce infrastructure for online retailers, as a licensed product, a big part of our responsibility is to work on Checkout as a Service.
Our main tasks are to build next-level e-commerce checkout, but also to focus on improving conversation & user flow for our own website.
What you will do
- You can take a business problem, translate it into a technical problem, and work with the team to ensure it is properly designed, planned, and delivered.
- Build high traffic user interfaces with Typescript & React.JS
- Work on the implementation of high-leverage features to optimize UX and conversion rates
- Cooperate with skilled developers, product managers, QA’s, and designers to ship new components and features
- Embrace modern agile software development methodologies and extreme programming practices such as TDD and pair programming.
- Extensive tech stack: use the right tools for the right tasks without being dogmatic about it.
- Plenty of room for your ideas and creations, flat hierarchies, and very short decision paths.
Who you are
- Very good & MVP-focused coding skills in JavaScript of minimum 3 years
- Practical & recent experience with React.JS
- Comfortable working with TypeScript
- Good background in building complex customer-facing products coming along with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Passionate about writing well-structured, efficient and maintainable code, actively keeping the quality of the code base in check
- Used to work in an English-speaking environment
