Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) - Utilization Review

Above and Beyond Therapy is looking for an exceptional Utilization Specialist - Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to join our team in the back office. This role is for a Utilization Specialist to oversee caseload managements across our teams.

ABT currently serves families with center, home and school based services across the following states: Georgia, Indiana, Nebraska, North Carolina, Oklahoma and Utah.


We are offering a salary between $95k and $110k

 

Above and Beyond Therapy provides the gold standard of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy services for children on the autism spectrum. Our highly qualified and personally dedicated BCBAs (Board Certified Behavior Analysts) combine their extensive knowledge and experience with our innovative treatment techniques to improve clients' social, behavioral, and adaptive skills. Above and beyond Therapy BCBAs deliver individually tailored treatment plans with compassion in homes, schools, and our conveniently located state of the art centers.


Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) Utilization Specialist Responsibilities and Duties
  • Utilization Review
  • Monitor and audit client service utilization to ensure appropriate authorization use and medical necessity compliance.
  • Identify cases with under- or over-utilization and work with BCBAs to adjust service recommendations accordingly.
  • Ensure that documentation and data collection support the level of services provided.
  • Supervision Compliance Review
  • Confirm that each client receives a minimum of 10% BCBA supervision as required by BACB and funding sources.
  • Review supervision session content to ensure treatment fidelity, skill development, and effective oversight of RBTs.
  • Provide feedback to BCBAs to enhance supervision strategies and session effectiveness.
  • Parent Training Review
  • Ensure that each client receives at least 2 hours of parent training per month, as required by funding sources.
  • Review parent training session documentation to verify effectiveness, engagement, and alignment with client goals.
  • Identify barriers to caregiver participation and work with BCBAs to develop strategies for increasing engagement and training compliance.
  • BCBA Schedule & Billable Hour Compliance
  • Monitor BCBA schedules to ensure clinicians are meeting their billable hour requirements.
  • Audit BCBA schedules for efficiency, balanced caseloads, and appropriate supervision distribution.
  • Provide recommendations to improve time management, scheduling efficiency, and service delivery consistency.
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Directors and administrative team to ensure BCBAs have the support needed to meet productivity expectations.


Job Requirements:
  • Qualifications & Requirements
  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification (required).
  • Minimum of 2 years of BCBA experience, preferably with quality assurance, utilization review, or case auditing.
  • Strong understanding of medical necessity, insurance guidelines, BACB supervision standards, and ethical service delivery.
  • Experience reviewing treatment documentation, session notes, and service utilization reports.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify compliance gaps and develop solutions.
  • Proficiency in Central Reach.
  • Excellent communication skills to provide clear and constructive feedback to clinical staff.
