The Activity Security Representative (ASR) I provides comprehensive, multi-disciplined security support to a customer facility and organization. This position ensures compliance with Collateral, SCI, and Special Access Program (SAP) security requirements while also contributing technical, administrative, and IT-related expertise. The ideal candidate brings strong organizational skills, communication ability, and a proactive security mindset to safeguard sensitive programs and operations.
Responsibilities
1. Administrative & Document Control Support
- Perform destruction of classified materials and process magnetic media for accountability.
- Maintain administrative logs and personnel security files.
- Maintains, tracks and updates IT and security related paperwork.
2. Access & Visitor Management
- Escort visitors and conduct entry/exit inspections per security standards.
- Assist with facility access badge preparation.
3. Security Policy Enforcement & Education
- Enforce customer SOPs and security procedures.
- Support execution of security awareness and education programs.
- Provide additional administrative support as directed by senior security staff.
4. Personnel Security & Clearance Management
- Execute SAP Nomination Process Questionnaires and Program Access Requests (PARs).
- Maintain personnel access records and perform data entry in JADE and DISS.
5. IT & AV/VTC Support
- Provide Tier 1 audiovisual and VTC troubleshooting, including fiber vs. CAT6 connectivity and Codex knowledge.
- Support conference room users, scheduling, and bridge connectivity.
- Troubleshoot TACLANEs, network, and encryption devices, coordinating with agencies (e.g., DISA) to resolve issues.
- Diagnose and resolve computer system and network connectivity issues.
- Maintain IT inventory and apply hardware/software terminology in daily operations.
- Have a working knowledge of TEMPEST and black/red separation.
- Understand and apply DOD and Industry IT security standards and best practices.
- Participate in security inspections and audits.
- Closely work with the security office and other counterparts to report and resolve issues.
- Assist with installation, maintenance or verification of IT components within secure spaces.
6. Facility Access & Response
- Respond to after-hours alarms and ensure compliance with security protocols.
- Active TS/SCI clearance (or TS with SCI eligibility); SAP access experience preferred.
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in security, IT, or related fields.
- Strong analytical, inquisitive, and proactive security mindset—able to independently identify and resolve issues.
- Familiarity with IT terminology, hardware, and software; prior inventory management a plus.
- Experience with TACLANEs, VTC systems, and troubleshooting network connectivity.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Willingness to submit to Counterintelligence Polygraph and initiate Tier 5 Investigation within 30 days of hire.
