Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and proactive Community Manager Intern / Discord Moderator to support our growing online community. The ideal candidate will be a people-oriented individual with excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of community engagement, and an interest in managing online platforms, particularly Discord. This role will involve moderating community conversations, assisting in organizing community events, and providing valuable insights to enhance member experiences. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in community management while contributing to the growth of a vibrant digital community.
Key Responsibilities
- Community Engagement:
- Actively engage with community members across Discord channels, encouraging positive and productive conversations.
- Assist in welcoming new members and introducing them to the community guidelines and resources.
- Create and manage interactive content (e.g., polls, Q&A sessions, community challenges).
- Respond to member queries, concerns, and feedback in a timely and professional manner.
- Moderation:
- Monitor and moderate community channels to ensure adherence to community guidelines and maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment.
- Identify and address conflicts, escalating issues to senior team members when necessary.
- Implement community rules and guidelines consistently, including handling rule violations and user reports.
- Content Creation & Communication:
- Assist in developing community announcements and updates.
- Support the creation and distribution of educational resources and guides for members.
- Collaborate with the marketing and community teams to brainstorm new ideas and initiatives.
- Event Support:
- Assist in planning and executing virtual community events such as AMA sessions, game nights, and special promotions.
- Promote and facilitate engagement before, during, and after events.
- Analytics & Reporting:
- Track community metrics (e.g., engagement rates, user activity) to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Provide weekly summaries and insights on community health and member sentiment.
Qualifications
- Familiarity with Discord platform features and best practices.
- Strong level of English language
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A proactive and enthusiastic attitude toward building and nurturing online communities.
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with diplomacy and tact.
Preferred Skills
- Experience moderating or managing online communities (Discord, forums, etc.).
- Understanding of social media and community management tools.
- Interest or experience in tech/finance
