Fullstack Engineer - job 1 of 2

Agile Six is a people-first remote company partnering with federal agencies to deliver innovative, human-centered solutions. They are seeking a fullstack engineer skilled in Ruby and React to enhance digital tools for the Department of Veterans Affairs, improving accessibility and usability for millions of veterans.

Skills

Proficient in Ruby on Rails, JavaScript/TypeScript with React, React Testing Library, and RSpec.
Experience working across front-end and back-end tech stacks.
Ability to leverage AI tools to enhance software development.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and self-managed workflows.
Strong problem-solving, pragmatic decision-making, and experimental mindset.

Responsibilities

Develop components and service APIs using various frameworks and architectures.
Solve technical challenges, design solutions, troubleshoot production issues, and improve system performance.
Apply design patterns and best practices for quality through code reviews and metrics.
Identify and integrate AI-powered tools to improve software delivery efficiency and quality.
Support and coach team members on leveraging AI services.
Foster teamwork and mentorship through code reviews and pair programming.
Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical teams for collaboration.
Champion innovative ideas and support systemic improvements.
Adapt and grow skills as team and project needs evolve.
Support organizational engineering practices including recruitment and community engagement.

Education

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or related field.
