Engineering Manager - Perception

Applied Intuition is a leader in vehicle intelligence technology, providing AI-driven autonomy toolchains primarily for automotive and defense sectors. They seek an experienced Engineering Manager to lead their Perception team focused on scalable perception solutions for commercial trucking, advancing L4 autonomous vehicle technology.

Skills

Strong background in machine learning techniques and converting research into production systems
Experience with perception systems in production environments, ideally in L2+ or L4 autonomy contexts
Cross-functional collaboration skills with infrastructure, data, and behavior teams
Technical leadership and architectural decision-making capabilities

Responsibilities

Manage and grow a high-performing team of engineers focused on perception algorithms across multiple sensor modalities including camera, lidar, and radar
Prioritize and direct development efforts on long-range object detection and tracking
Drive evolution of perception architecture toward a level 4 end-to-end autonomous driving stack
Set technical direction, goals, and roadmap aligned with safety, performance, and deployment milestones
Collaborate with machine learning, simulation, and data engineering teams to improve validation and system performance
Lead hiring, mentoring, and career growth initiatives for the team

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
