Software Engineer - Controls

Applied Intuition is a leading vehicle intelligence company that accelerates the adoption of safe, AI-driven machines across automotive and defense industries. They seek a Software Engineer with expertise in autonomous vehicle controls to develop high-performance control modules and collaborate with dynamic teams and customers.

Skills

Strong background in control of autonomous vehicles or mobile robots
Proficient in modern software development practices with 4+ years of experience
Hands-on experience testing control solutions on production-grade vehicles
Fluency in differential equations, numerical optimization, and physics
Ability to apply academic research in practical control systems

Responsibilities

Design and implement controls modules for autonomous vehicle navigation
Characterize vehicle dynamics to tailor controls solutions and reduce simulation-real world gaps
Develop optimal-control-based solutions using nonlinear MPC and MPPI techniques
Collaborate with customers’ engineers and manage customer relationships

Education

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or related field
Master’s or PhD in mechanical engineering or computer science with controls coursework preferred
