Sr Data Solutions Engineer I

Axon is a mission-driven technology company focusing on public safety products including electric weapons, body cameras, sensors, and AI tools. They seek a Sr Data Solutions Engineer to develop and maintain high-scale web data systems supporting law enforcement data integration and reporting, particularly focused on NIBRS compliance and state/federal crime data.

Skills

Experience with TypeScript, JavaScript, JSON, and XML.
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Bash.
Familiarity with REST clients like Postman or Insomnia.
Technical expertise in NIBRS programs and crime data systems.
Strong decision-making skills in technical design.
Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities.

Responsibilities

Develop NIBRS software submission and validation frameworks meeting State and Federal requirements.
Identify and propose solutions to NIBRS challenges, collaborating with leadership and stakeholders.
Work directly with NIBRS specialists and agency stakeholders to develop plans and meet compliance.
Develop and maintain data pipelines for system integration, data management, and analytics.
Automate processes to support product deployment and evolution at scale.
Participate in code reviews and architecture design meetings.
Own and drive features end-to-end with product and design teams.
Ensure high code quality and performance standards.
Collaborate with internal teams and external agencies to make public safety data accessible.
Mentor junior engineers and influence technical decisions.
Facilitate cross-team collaboration among engineers, solution architects, and analysts.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in a technical or quantitative field, or
Graduate of a coding boot camp, or
6+ years of related technical experience.
