The Tracking team - Better Tracking:
The Tracking Team is part of Better Tracking Product Tribe at Bettermile. The team aims to create exciting and engaging UX to enable consignees to influence their delivery experience and reduce the communication gap between the driver and consignee. With your expertise, we can enhance our software product by seamlessly implementing features, efficiently navigating complex projects, contributing strategically to architectural decisions, and staying at the forefront of industry innovation.
The Data Solutions team - Better Tracking:
The Data Solutions Team is part of Better Tracking Product Tribe at Bettermile. As a Backend Engineer in the Data Solutions team, you will work closely with our Data Analysts to build and refine data pipelines that feed into Machine Learning models, Decision Trees, and other prediction models. Your contributions will directly impact our data-driven decision-making and the development of new products. This role offers a great opportunity to shape our backend architecture while integrating with cutting-edge analytics and AI-powered solutions.
The Feature team - Better Places:
Location services are at the heart of any delivery experience, and the Feature team of Better Places Product Tribe is building a world-class solution that integrates multiple providers to get accurate geocoding, enables geocode corrections, and serves relevant information about addresses worldwide. We use open-source and proprietary data and algorithms to build a highly scalable system that serves billions of requests.
The Asgard team - Better Route:
Our dynamic backend team is the powerhouse behind various state and stateful services that drive seamless user experiences across multiple customer integration options. Specializing in the development and integration of complex systems, the team expertly manages components such as the stateful tour backend, state services for driver tasks, notifications, and timeframes. These services are meticulously crafted to ensure robust, scalable, and reliable functionality and interoperability, both internally and with external services, as well as a reliable data flow to the internal data set up.
You will be taking care of
Implementing and taking ownership of new features across the product the Kotlin-based backend microservices.
Proactively reaching out to other teams, product owners, on-call engineers, etc, to sort out questions that arise during implementation.
Contributing to strategic long-term team decisions such as framework choices/architecture, focusing on the business needs.
Supporting ongoing efforts on optimizing existing microservice architecture.
You check these boxes
A robust background in computer science and software engineering, including a minimum of 3 years of backend experience.
Proficiency in backend technologies such as Kotlin/Java/Scala, Gradle or Maven, and the Spring Boot Framework.
Proficiency in Business English.
It is awesome if you also have
All teams:
Familiarity with AWS services, such as SNS, SQS, Eventbridge, ECS, Cloudwatch, indicating an understanding of cloud-based analytics and machine learning services.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deployment methodologies using tools like GitHub Actions, ensuring efficient and reliable software delivery.
Experience with automated testing, utilizing tools like Cucumber to streamline testing processes.
The Tracking team:
Proficiency in JavaScript, Vue.js, CSS, and adeptness in working with RESTful architecture.
The Asgard team:
Experience with monitoring tools like New Relic and familiarity with Arrow for functional programming in Kotlin.
Willing to work with infrastructure as code/ideally with prior experience.
