Learning Experience Designer

Blackline Safety is looking for a full-time Learning Experience Designer to develop learning content on our award-winning connected safety products and cloud-hosted software. The successful candidate will work as part of a team to develop high-quality materials. The focus of the role is targeted to training our customers on Blackline Safety’s products. You will be developing instructor-led materials, job aids, eLearning, videos and guided software walkthroughs.

What will you do?

Reporting to the Director, Performance and Learning, and working with a team of learning professionals, you will be tasked with designing high impact learning experiences, taking responsibility for: creating detailed design, developing materials, and supporting implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Customize training materials for end-user needs.
  • Write or compile content for learner or instructor materials.
  • Develop layout and visuals for learner and instructor materials.
  • Collaborate to develop storyboards.
  • Produce new eLearning materials.
  • Develop digital walkthroughs for software tools.
  • Create instructional videos, including videography and editing.
  • Localize courses for the international market.
  • Update existing learning materials for new product releases and upgrades.
  • Create customized learning materials based on specific customer needs.
  • Coordinate with designated client contacts to complete reviews and edits of custom training modules.

Required skills

  • High technological aptitude.
  • Ability to adhere to a consistent visual style that fits within brand guidelines.
  • Strong visual layout and graphic presentation skills with good attention to detail.
  • Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio scripts and video scripts.
  • Well versed in video editing technology and techniques.
  • Experience with modern eLearning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in instructional design, education, marketing or equivalent. Equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Demonstrated competency in instructional design, curriculum development and e-Learning. Minimum one year experience preferred.
