Job Title: Blackstone Global Fund Finance - Assistant Vice President
 

Job Responsibilities:

• Liaise on a daily basis with third party fund administrator including, but not limited to cash, capital allocations and reconciliations, financial statements, capital call drawdown notices, distributions, redemptions, and investor requests.
• Lead fund level operating activities including deal funding, investor funding, all cash activities, line of credit, reconciliations, and regulatory reporting.
• Quarterly close of Blackstone deliverables.
• Oversee quarterly and annual GAAP financial statements of fund partnerships.
• Review all updates in waterfall model for contribution and distribution process and distribution waterfall testing.
• Liaise with external auditors.
• Coordinate with internal audit to ensure SOX compliance.
• Collaborate with multiple internal teams including Tax, Acquisition, Portfolio Management, Asset Management, Legal & Compliance, Investor Client Services, local Finance, Technology, and Treasury.
• Get involved in all system migration and implementation.
• Manage and mentor junior staff; and coordinate with offshore team.
• Assist with ad-hoc projects.
• Supervise (8) COE team members (Analysts) based in India.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field required.

Experience:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in job offered or related occupations required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in public accounting on alternative funds including Hedge Funds, Private Equity Funds and Fund of Funds in all stages of the investment lifecycle.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in reviewing the financial statements of open-ended and closed-ended funds in conformity with U.S. GAAP.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial reporting structures including combined, consolidated and master-feeder structures.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience performing reconciliations of cash, investment activities, expenses, agreeing the trial balance to the Financial Statements’ line items, and reviewing any manual topside journal entries.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience calculating the funds’ financial highlights, which includes expense ratios, IRR and total return, and analyzing the performance of the funds by using Microsoft excel.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience reviewing SOC 1 reports, performing due diligence procedures and using Microsoft PowerPoint to draw fund org. charts and the flow of internal control processes.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience testing private and illiquid investment valuations using the income approach, discounted cash flow approach, recent round of financing and cost approach and building financial models using Microsoft excel.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience reviewing the fund governance agreements and using Microsoft excel to construct American and European waterfall models.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience calculating realized and hypothetical incentive allocations by deal, fund and investor.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience conducting tests to assess the arm's length nature of related party transactions and in evaluating the accuracy and adequacy of financial statement disclosures.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience performing the calculation of partners’ contribution and distribution, management fees, partners’ capital profit & loss allocation and rebalance for sub closings using Microsoft excel, and reviewing contribution and distribution notices and partners’ capital statements. 
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial reporting of derivative instruments including forward and swap contracts and the financial reporting of fixed income securities including bonds, loans and Commercial Mortgage-Backed Securities.
• Experience can be concurrent.

Expected annual base salary range:

Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.

Additional compensation: Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits offered in connection with the advertised role.
