Position Summary

As a Web Designer at BUMP, you will work collaboratively with the Marketing Manager to implement user-friendly and customized websites, ensuring high performance and responsiveness to user interactions on behalf of BUMP and/or our non-profit partners.

 

Responsibilities

Website Development & Maintenance

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance websites to maximize customer engagements.
  • Implement custom themes, sections, or components with user-facing features through Content Management Systems.
  • Optimize all designs for various devices and screen sizes with a particular focus on mobile first.

Collaboration & Integration

  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to build webpages, templates, and elements in WordPress using a combination of Gutenberg editor, HTML, CSS, JavaScript & PHP to meet the strategic needs of our organization and ensure seamless integration of design and functionality.

User Experience & Design

  • Prepare mock-ups and page content in multiple locales and sizes.
  • Incorporate UX principles to improve website usability and navigation.
  • Creation and implementation of interactive features to enhance user engagement.
  • Ensure designs are following AODA standards and guidelines.

Testing & Optimization

  • Recommend, plan, execute, and manage usability, personalization, and A/B tests to build on best practices and design improvement.

Performance Monitoring & Reporting

  • Create standards to capture visitor details and other key metrics on internal sites.
  • Monitor performance, create and maintain all reports in adherence with internal strategic goals.

 

Qualifications

Education and Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s degree in web design (or related) or an equivalent combination of education and relevant additional work experience.
  • Knowledge of the following:
    • Web fundamentals – common languages, responsive design, accessibility, SEO
    • API and third-party integrations
    • Analytics tools

Technical Environment

  • Languages: HTML, JavaScript, CSS, PHP
  • Tools: Adobe Creative Suite, Figma
  • Content Mgmt. System: WordPress
