Position Summary

Provides support to small businesses. Must be committed to serving a diverse
college community, the business community and general public. Actively
participates in and contributes to continuous quality improvement.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Works with business owners and potential business owners to assist in the creation of

business plans, financial projections, marketing materials, press releases, budgets, records

management strategies, written agreements, human resources strategies and to identify and

apply for financing.

• Remains informed of new developments related to all aspects of business ownership.

(Reads periodicals, magazines, and newsletters; attends workshops.)

• Presents seminars and lectures to provide detailed information concerning starting and

running businesses in New Mexico.

• Coordinates with center personnel to develop and implement strategies that result in desired

outcomes for the Statewide Network.

• Meets professional development annual requirements.

• Assists in identifying instructors and topics for training workshops.

• Serves on assigned college committees.

• Prepares required reports.

• Performs related duties as assigned.

• Knowledge of budget and financial projection development principles.

• Knowledge of computers and job related software programs.

• Knowledge of human resources principles and practices.

• Knowledge of quality customer service practices.• Skill in decision making and problem solving.

• Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public.

• Skill in oral and written communication.

• Skill in the development of financial transactions.

• Ability to develop and implement marketing strategies.

• Ability to develop and present presentations and lectures

    Work Hours

    • Typically 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

    • May be required to work evenings and/or weekends.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in business, business administration, accounting, finance, or a related

    field

    • Three (3) years in small business experience or a related field.

    • Equivalent related experience may be substituted for education on a year for year basis.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bilingual Spanish
