We're a team of founders who've built and sold companies together, alums from Atlassian, Microsoft, Amplitude, Branch, mParticle, and Ramp, among others. We're building a generational company and just getting started. Join our mission to revolutionize the world's largest software category.

Clarify is a remote-first company with 6 hours of overlap on PST. We spend one week a quarter together in person as a team.

About the role

You'll join our engineering team as our first Growth Engineer, helping to establish the foundation of our growth marketing practice. You will work closely with our founders to build scaled marketing experiences zero to one, make foundational technical design decisions around our growth and marketing technology stack, and own a large high velocity marketing scope.

This is an extremely dynamic and fast paced role. You will wear many hats. You’ll bounce between sales, marketing, product, success, ops all in an effort to apply engineering to scale the business.

We’re looking for someone who loves to build, tinker, experiment and has a passion for the intersection of engineering and non-technical domains.

Your background

  • 4-6 years of software engineering experience.

  • Intellectual curiosity and interest in learning how a business operates beyond an engineering context.

  • Desire and past experience working at the intersection of revenue goals and engineering.

  • A basic understanding of how a company operates and desire to learn how top of funnel business metrics drive company outcomes.

  • Proven examples developing with AI in an assistive nature.

  • Passion for applying engineering to novel business contexts in an effort to scale.

  • Proficient with our technology stack: React, TypeScript, Next.js, Postgres, Node.js, Sanity.

  • Pragmatic problem solver with a focus on delivering impact.

  • Demonstrated personal and professional maturity.

  • Experience taking software from ideation to production.

  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • Startup experience or a desire to build your own company one day.

Nice to Haves

  • Workable knowledge of the CRM and CDP spaces and more broadly the GTM tooling category.

  • Workable understanding of CMS technologies as well as programmatic marketing and practices including SEO, SEM, paid advertising etc.

  • Familiarity with tools in our stack including PostHog, Google Ads, Sanity, Assembly, ByWord.

  • Understanding or interest in learning marketing and revenue technology.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment where urgency to serve our customers is second-nature.

What You’ll Do

  • Design and develop high-quality software, drive the architectural decision, and full product delivery life cycle.

  • Build and scale traditional channels through the use of engineering.

  • Work extensively with our cofounders to scope, build, deploy and optimize martech, revtech, sales ops, and generalized ops experiences internally.

  • Airdive into projects across the company, understand how a process, workflow or activity is done today, and think about how to scale it with engineering.

  • Incorporate customer feedback into the product engineering roadmap and often jump headfirst into immediately tackling customer problems to deliver a delightful experience.

  • Partner with our founders on the strategy of our customer-facing experiences.

  • Establish standards and best practices for growth engineering.

  • Develop and grow a wide variety of technology tools across our front end marketing website and marketing technology stack. Help educate and guide all future engineers in this stack.

  • Write and deploy internal code to help us scale marketing and sales projects.

  • Marketing Tech: Optimize our first version of marketing technology stack including many growth oriented motions, like paid ads, email marketing, content marketing, events, scaled partnerships and more.

  • Scaling SEO: Building an engine to allow our team to write, optimize and deploy content in both a high touch and low touch way with minimal human interaction.

  • Scaled Partnerships: Ideate, build and deploy a system for rapidly onboarding and supporting our wonderful partners who love Clarify and use it with their clients.
