Job OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to oversee our financial operations and ensure the accuracy of our financial reporting. The ideal candidate will possess strong financial acumen and a thorough understanding of accounting principles. This role is crucial in guiding our financial strategy, managing cash flow, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.Duties• Manage all aspects of accounts payable, ensuring timely processing and accurate record-keeping.• Conduct comprehensive account analysis to identify trends and variances.• Oversee financial analysis processes to support strategic decision-making.• Utilize financial software, including QuickBooks Enterprise, for efficient accounting practices.• Perform account reconciliation to maintain accurate financial records.• Prepare financial reports for senior management, highlighting key insights and recommendations.• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance financial management practices across the organization.• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations in financial reporting.• Oversight and assistance with all accounting operations• Produce accurate and timely financial statements• Strong understanding of accounting processes and ability to step into all roles within the accounting department• Bank and general ledger reconciliations• Cash flow monitoring and management• Monitor all ledger accounts for accuracy. Correcting and following up on any inconsistencies• Ad hoc reports requests and analysis reports for all departments• All aspects of payroll – including reporting and tax filing, commission tracking and calculation• Oversight of employee and company expenses (cost accounting)• Federal and State Tax compliance• Understanding of Canadian accounting practices• Strong understanding of accounting for foreign currencies• Intercompany transactions in foreign currency• Training and development of accounting and office staff• Resolving issues with bank and credit card companies• Control of company credit cards and monitoring balances• Provincial Tax Filing and Reporting (Canada)• Sales Tax Filing and Reporting (US)• Filing of all sales tax in both the US and Canada• Worker’s Compensation Insurance and audits• Inventory ControlQualifications• Proven experience as a Controller or in a similar financial management role.• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including accounts payable and account reconciliation.• Proficiency in financial software, particularly QuickBooks Enterprise, is preferred.• Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.If you are a proactive leader with a passion for finance and a commitment to excellence, we invite you to apply for this exciting opportunity as our Controller.Job Type: Full-timePay: Up to $110,000.00 per yearBenefits:• Health insurance• Paid time offPhysical Setting:• OfficeSchedule:• Monday to FridayWork Location: In person
