Production Associate 3

JOB DETAILS

Base Pay: $18.25 per hour

1st Shift: 6:45 am - 3:15 pm

The Glass Optimizer is responsible for the cutting and organizing of glass to be processed into insulated glass units. Successful candidates enjoy working in a fast-paced, physically demanding, and repetitive work environment, which includes heavy lifting or working with your hands.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Select proper glass batch on Optimizer Table computer
  • Consistently hold cycle time
  • Assist in movement of carts in and out of production work area  
  • Communicate quality issues or mechanical issues observed
  • Complete quality checks
  • Constantly observe quality of IG units
  • Break scored glass and place into corresponding slots on glass cart
  • Drop needed glass sheets on table without autopickers

Qualifications

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and stand for duration of entire shift
  • Ability to move large sheets of glass.
  • Ability to measure with 1/32”
  • Ability to use computerized equipment
  • Ability to read and write to complete quality checklists, verify paperwork, read machine settings and cart locations
  • Ability to work in tandem with another operator
  • Ability to locate minor quality defects in glass
  • Must cross-train and rotate on various workstations within line/complex. 
  • Ability to comprehend written work instructions, standard work and quality documents 
  • Ability to move carts of glass in and out of production areas 
  • 1 - 3 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred
