Product Manager - Customs Tech (BE)

You will oversee a specific area of our CAS product, a leading customs software solution in the market. This product covers customs declaration filing, customs special procedures, and excise movements. Your responsibilities will include managing cross-functional topics and focusing on specific customs jurisdictions and related system integrations, such as port systems. Exact topics can and will change over time based on available team resources and priorities.

You will be responsible for leading a cross-functional development team (squad) consisting of a technology lead, 3-6 developers and a QA-colleague. You and your development team are empowered to deliver product enhancements and improvements end-to-end across features, architecture, security, performance scalability and issue resolution.

It’s your job to stay on top of regulatory and system changes triggered by the jurisdictions and system providers you are responsible for. This includes gathering requirements for a release, exciting your team and colleagues about the difference they will make for our customers and creating detailed user stories that are part of a rolling 3 quarter roadmap.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct customer interviews and user validations to deeply understand the pain points and needs of customers
  • Evangelize the product roadmap with customers and other internal stakeholders
  • Stay up to date on customs, regulations and their related best practices
  • Make all functional decisions for your product area in alignment with the rest of the product team and the Go-To-Market division
  • Define and iterate backlog while working closely with the technology lead of your squad and your UX colleague
  • Maintain the backlog so your squad knows what to work on next
  • Prepare launch and release enablement e.g. sprint highlights presentation, release note contents and feature documentation to make sure that sales, onboarding, support and customers have what they need
  • You have a strong customs knowledge
  • You have a general technical understanding of software
