Job Title: Marine EstimatorLocation: Portsmouth, VAPosition OverviewFor over 65 years we have been a leader in the marine construction industry. We specialize in a wide variety of marine construction projects, including bridges, piers, seawalls, and other waterfront structures.We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join our construction team. The Estimator will play a critical role in analyzing project specifications, preparing cost estimates, and ensuring project feasibility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction estimation and a keen eye for detail to deliver accurate and timely estimates.Key Responsibilities• Analyze and review project plans, specifications, and other documents to prepare accurate cost estimates for marine construction projects.• Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing for materials and services.• Use HCSS Heavy Bid software to estimate project costs, including labor, materials, and equipment.• Prepare detailed written bid proposals and presentations for clients, including project timelines, costs, and scope of work.• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to develop cost-effective solutions to complex construction challenges.• Monitor and support project job costs throughout the construction process, including change orders and additional scope of work.• Provide regular progress reports to senior management, clients, and other stakeholders.Qualifications• 5+ years of experience in marine construction estimating• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering/technologies or a related field experience (preferred)• Experience with HCSS Heavy Bid software (preferred)Benefits• Competitive pay ($100k-$135k DOE)• Health, vision dental insurance• Paid time off• Disability and life insurance• 401k with company matchEmail Your Resume In Word ToLooking forward to receiving your resume through our website and going over the position with you.
