Senior Platform Software Engineer

dbt Labs is a leading analytics engineering platform pioneering modern data transformation solutions. They are seeking a Senior Platform Software Engineer to architect and build resilient multi-cell infrastructure to enhance platform scalability and reliability.

Skills

Proficient in Go or Python programming languages.
Expertise in cloud infrastructure on AWS, GCP, or Azure.
Hands-on experience with containerization, specifically Docker and Kubernetes.
Skilled in Infrastructure as Code tooling such as Terraform.
Strong background in building large-scale distributed systems.
Experience with backend service development and system automation.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and operate foundational multi-cell platform components including service routing and account lifecycle control plane.
Develop and automate tooling for seamless customer migrations to the new infrastructure.
Write scalable backend services primarily using Go and Python, with opportunities to work with Rust.
Implement automation with Kubernetes, Argo Workflows to improve reliability and efficiency.
Lead best practices in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Helm, CI/CD pipelines, and configuration management.
Collaborate with product, security, and customer support teams to unblock features and mentor engineers.
Own distributed systems operations, troubleshoot complex issues, and participate in on-call rotations.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field preferred.
Equivalent practical experience or relevant bootcamp completion considered.
