Research Scientist, Multimodal Generative AI (Image/Video)

Google DeepMind is a leading AI research company focusing on building general-purpose learning algorithms. They are seeking a Research Scientist specialized in multimodal generative AI to develop state-of-the-art methods in image and video generation, working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team committed to ethical AI advancement.

Skills

Proven expertise in deep learning research and development, particularly generative AI focused on image synthesis.
Strong programming skills in Python and deep learning frameworks such as Jax, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
Experience with diffusion models and autoregressive generative models.
Strong publication record in top machine learning and computer vision conferences.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and rigorously evaluate deep learning algorithms for multimodal generative AI with an emphasis on image synthesis.
Report and present research findings clearly both internally and externally.
Drive individual research initiatives and collaborate with the team to meet ambitious goals.
Collaborate with Ethics and Governance teams to ensure ethical development of AI technologies.

Education

PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, or equivalent practical experience.
