Software Engineer, Medical AI

Google DeepMind is advancing artificial intelligence with a focus on medicine and healthcare, seeking a Software Engineer to develop and deploy sophisticated multimodal and multi-agent AI systems within a collaborative and mission-driven environment.

Skills

Experience developing and deploying end-to-end large language model (LLM) powered systems or multi-agent multimodal models.
Proven software engineering skills with 2+ years creating maintainable, high-quality backend or full-stack scalable systems.
Hands-on experience with real-time audio-video streaming and multi-agent orchestration.
Knowledge of prompt engineering, data pipelines, and evaluation methods for large language models.
Ability to independently solve complex product requirements with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and implement high-performance AI systems tailored for medicine and safety-critical healthcare environments.
Lead full-stack development from front-end to backend and agentic AI systems using cutting-edge multimodal language models.
Produce clean, reusable, and scalable code and infrastructure components addressing medical AI challenges.
Collaborate closely with research scientists and engineers ensuring system safety, reliability, and continuous advancement.
Implement tools and frameworks to accelerate research deployments of medical AI technologies.
Leverage advanced technologies and methods to solve complex problems in healthcare AI.
Promote a culture of teamwork, learning, and high-impact research in an interdisciplinary setting.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field preferred, but relevant experience is also valued.
