DevOps Engineer III (Remote - US)

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a DevOps Engineer III in the United States.

In this senior role, you will lead the deployment, automation, and operation of cloud-native applications in highly secure environments, ensuring compliance with strict regulatory standards. You will work closely with software, cybersecurity, and infrastructure teams to implement resilient, scalable, and automated solutions using modern DevSecOps practices. Your responsibilities will include architecting Kubernetes clusters, designing CI/CD pipelines, implementing observability and monitoring solutions, and mentoring junior engineers. This position offers the opportunity to influence platform-wide automation, optimize cloud infrastructure, and contribute to mission-critical deployments within a collaborative and highly technical environment.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead the deployment, configuration, and management of secure Kubernetes-based environments.
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform, Ansible, and automation scripts in Python.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions) with automated testing, security scanning, and deployment verification.
  • Maintain compliance with DoD IL4/IL5 security requirements, STIG, CIS benchmarks, and vulnerability management processes.
  • Design and integrate observability solutions, including logging, metrics, and automated alert response workflows.
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure and application issues in coordination with product and cyber teams.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and IaC guides to support continuity and compliance.

  • U.S. Citizenship and active DoD Secret Security Clearance.
  • Active CompTIA Security+ or equivalent 8570 IAT Level II certification.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity, or related field.
  • 15+ years of experience in DevOps, cloud architecture, and automation.
  • Expertise in AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes (EKS), Helm, and multi-VPC environments.
  • Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and security scanning tools.
  • Knowledge of AWS networking, load balancers, storage solutions, and observability tools (Grafana, Prometheus, CloudWatch, Splunk).
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor junior engineers and provide strategic technical guidance.
  • Familiarity with Agile SDLC and DoD RMF processes.

  • Competitive salary range: $150,000 – $180,000.
