ERP Planner/Scheduler – Grand Rapids, Michigan


DISHER is partnering with a motorcycle manufacturer in Grand Rapids, Michigan to fill their ERP Planner/ Scheduler position. This position ensures production schedules and material plans are developed, updated, and executed through the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to meet customer requirements, quality standards, and just-in-time (JIT) manufacturing principles.

What you'll get to do:
  • Production Scheduling
  • Develop and maintain detailed production schedules to meet daily, weekly, and monthly targets in alignment with customer orders.
  • Monitor and adjust schedules based on production constraints, machine availability, and labor capacity.
  • Ensure adherence to JIT production principles and minimize downtime.
  • Material Planning and Supply Chain Coordination
  • Collaborate with procurement to manage raw material requirements and maintain inventory accuracy
  • Ensure timely delivery of components, including managing supplier schedules and addressing disruptions.
  • Integrate production scheduling with supply chain systems to synchronize upstream and downstream processes.
  • ERP System Management
  • Enter, monitor, and update all work orders, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and inventory data within the ERP system.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve scheduling or system-related issues to avoid production delays.
  • Ensure data integrity and accurate reflection of real-time operational metrics in the ERP system.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Liaise with production, quality, engineering, procurement, and logistics teams to ensure alignment of schedules with customer delivery requirements.
  • Provide updates to leadership on schedule adherence, delays, and recovery plans.
  • Participate in customer and supplier communications for major schedule adjustments, particularly for critical parts or systems.
  • Reporting and Analytics
  • Generate and analyze key metrics, including on-time delivery (OTD), cycle times, and resource utilization.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to production workflows and scheduling processes.
  • Provide visibility into capacity planning and lead-time metrics
  • Compliance and Continuous Improvement:
  • Ensure all scheduling processes adhere to automotive industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001:2015).
  • Support lean manufacturing initiatives, including Kanban, 5S, and continuous improvement projects, to optimize production flow.
