Job Purpose:

The selected developer will lead efforts to analyze, refactor, and update legacy .NET applications to align with Florida PALM’s updated Chart of Accounts and standardized business processes. This role requires deep knowledge of modern Microsoft technologies, financial systems, and the ability to document technical specifications for legacy systems to enable smooth transitions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and resolve incoming service desk tickets and user requests.
• Perform advanced issue diagnosis and root cause analysis.
• Investigate and document business processes and the interdependence of various technical systems.
• Provide clear updates and maintain high standards of customer service.
• Support the development of business cases for new or remediated applications.
• Conduct comprehensive application and unit testing before implementation.
• Serve as a senior developer across cross-functional teams, ensuring scalable and secure solutions.
• Translate architecture and design into efficient, maintainable code.
• Collaborate with distributed teams to implement solutions that align with organizational strategy.
• Provide technical leadership and ensure high development standards across projects.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
• At least 5 years of experience as a lead developer and 8+ years in Microsoft technology stack including:
• C#, ASP.NET/MVC, WebAPI/WCF
• SQL Server, DB2
• JavaScript frameworks (Angular, Knockout)
• REST, XML, JSON, HTML, CSS
• Experience troubleshooting high-volume distributed web applications.
• Strong understanding of design patterns, coding best practices, and performance optimization.
• Proven ability to work in both Agile and Waterfall development environments.
• Skilled in managing relational databases and designing data-driven applications.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to analyze user needs and translate them into scalable business solutions.
• Comfortable working independently and in collaborative team settings.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• Prior experience with financial systems or ERP platforms.
• Exposure to legacy platforms such as COBOL, DB2, CA-GEN, or FOCUS.
• Familiarity with SCRUM or Agile project management methodologies.
• Knowledge of cloud architecture (e.g., Microsoft Azure PaaS/IaaS).
• Basic understanding of financial principles and government accounting practices.
