Dollar General is hiring for Freight Processing AgentThe Freight Processing Agent at Dollar General is responsible for efficiently and safely handling the movement of goods in the distribution center. This role ensures the timely, accurate receipt, and storage of merchandise to maintain the company's inventory and fulfill customer needs. The Freight Handler also assists with unloading inbound trailers, loading outbound shipments, and organizing products in the warehouse.Key Responsibilities:Freight Handling:• Utilize forklifts, pallet jacks, and conveyors to assist in the unloading and loading of merchandise onto arriving and departing trailers.• Ensure the accurate handling and arrangement of products for storage or distribution to retail outlets.• Perform the classification, tagging, and precise surveillance of items.Inventory Management:• Ensure the accurate counting, organization, and storage of products within designated warehouse locations.• Ensure the precision of inventory by monitoring and verifying shipments, damages, and returns effectively.Safety and Compliance:• Follow safety protocols diligently to create a hazard-free workplace setting.• Practice safe handling techniques while operating warehouse machinery and tools to prevent accidents and ensure the protection of products.• Ensure compliance with all company policies, particularly those associated with the safe management of delicate or unsafe items.Efficiency:• Fulfill productivity criteria by proficiently wrapping up assigned tasks promptly.• Contribute to continuous improvement projects that focus on enhancing warehouse processes and increasing operational efficiency.Collaboration:• Team up with other freight handlers, warehouse staff, and supervisors to promote seamless warehouse operations.• Collaborate with supervisors to address issues and alleviate delays in operations.Required Qualifications:• Eligibility necessitates holding a high school diploma or meeting an equivalent educational benchmark.• Having experience in warehouse or freight operations is beneficial but not necessary.• Training opportunities are available to enhance proficiency in operating warehouse machinery.• Scrupulous attention and unwavering dedication to precision.• Adept at handling loads of up to 50 pounds regularly and standing for long periods.• Demonstrated aptitude in communication and ability to contribute positively within a team environment.Work Environment:• Employees in warehouses may face diverse temperature conditions while on duty.• Both full-time and part-time shifts are ready for selection.About Company:Dollar General Corporation is a prominent American discount retailer, headquartered in Goodlettsville, Tennessee.
